PostDown saves the videos and photos of a public post from Instagram, Threads, Facebook, X (Twitter) or TikTok. Paste the post's link, pick what you want and save it to your phone or computer. It's free, needs no account or app, and works only with posts anyone can see without logging in.
How to download
Copy the link
In the app, tap Share on the post and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
Paste it here
Tap Paste (or long-press the box and choose Paste), then tap Download. PostDown recognises the platform and reads the post.
Pick and save
Choose the photos and videos you want and tap Save. On a phone, pick Save Video or Save Image to put them in your gallery.

What it can and can't do
- Public posts only. Private accounts, stories, highlights and live videos can't be saved.
- Up to 100 photos and videos per post, videos up to 2 hours, and up to 512 MB per save.
- You get the best version the platform provides. When it offers more than one, you choose.
- Files are deleted from our server 1 hour after they're made. We don't keep a list of the links you paste.
- There's a daily limit per connection, which keeps the service free for everyone.
Questions
Is PostDown free?
Yes. There's no account, no app to install and no paid plan. Every quality the platform offers is free to save.
Do I need to install an app?
No. PostDown runs in the browser on Android phones, iPhones and computers. Open the site, paste a link and save.
Where do the files go?
On a phone, Save opens the share menu: choose Save Video or Save Image to put the file in your gallery, or save it to Files. On a computer the file goes to your Downloads folder. A post with several items can also be saved as one ZIP file.
Does PostDown keep my files or links?
No. Files are deleted from our server 1 hour after they're made, and the link you paste is kept only while your download is being prepared. We don't log the links people paste.
Why did my download fail?
Usually the post is private, deleted or limited to some countries, or the platform is limiting requests for a while. PostDown never logs in or gets around a platform's protections, so posts that need an account can't be saved. The message on screen says what happened and what to try.
Can I download any post?
Save only what you have the right to save, such as your own posts or posts the owner lets you keep. If you own content and want it removed from PostDown, use the copyright and takedown page.
